PH, Czech Republic to boost ties in agriculture, trade, defense, and more

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala agreed to deepen cooperation between the Philippines and the Czech Republic in various areas, including agriculture, trade and investment, defense and security, labor, space, and technology.

Three business agreements were signed between the Philippines and the Czech Republic on the last day of President Marcos Jr.'s state visit to Prague.

The Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc. (SEIPI) and the Electrical and Electronic Association of the Czech Republic (ELA) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of electronics.

The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines, Inc. (IBPAP) and the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SPCR) signed an Agreement of Mutual Cooperation to promote commercial and industrial relations.

President Marcos Jr. stated that these agreements unlock the potential of the business partnership, particularly in the semiconductor and IT-BPM sectors.

Czech President Petr Pavel expressed hope that the business forum would bring the two countries closer in terms of interest in business opportunities.
