Treasury, DoF appointees announced
President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has appointed Sharon P. Almanza as the new national treasurer, succeeding Rosalia De Leon.
De Leon has been appointed as a Monetary Board member.
Almanza previously served as the Officer-in-Charge of the Bureau of the Treasury and as deputy treasurer.
She was seconded to the World Bank Group from 2021 to 2023 as the Alternate Executive Director and Senior Advisor for a constituency of several countries including the Philippines.
Almanza also held positions within the Department of Finance, including division chief for Debt and Risk Management and Multilateral Assistance for the International Finance Group.
The President also appointed Rolando G. Tungpalan as finance undersecretary for the Corporate Affairs and Strategic Infrastructure Group.
Tungpalan will be tasked with accelerating the Build Better More program by addressing bottlenecks and fostering an environment conducive to investors.
