Angelito Magno formally named acting NBI director
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has formally named Angelito Magno as the acting director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on December 3.
Magno previously served as the officer-in-charge (OIC) of the NBI after the resignation of former director Jaime Santiago.
His appointment paper officially names him Director VI of the NBI.
Before his promotion, Magno was the NBI Assistant Director for Legal Service and has led various probe operations including the Degamo-Teves case, the 2023 MT Princess Empress oil spill, and the Socorro Bayanihan child exploitation ring.
He began his career with the NBI in April 1991 and achieved the rank of director in March 2010.
