Marcos Jr. honors OFW who saved baby from Hong Kong fire

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. honored Rhodora Alcaraz Tuñacao, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who saved a baby during a fire in Hong Kong.

Tuñacao, a domestic helper, was trapped for hours in a smoke-filled room with the three-month-old infant she was caring for during the incident last month.

She managed to escape with the baby, but her injuries left her confined to the hospital for several weeks.

The President commended Tuñacao's bravery and compassion, stating that her actions exemplify the innate concern Filipinos have for others.

He also pledged that his administration is committed to improving services for OFWs.

Tuñacao has since returned to the Philippines and was welcomed by President Marcos Jr. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

She is now among the guests at the ceremonial opening of NAIA's new facilities.

Tuñacao was also welcomed home by her two siblings, who helped bring her back to Laguna.
