Singson, SGV exec picked for infrastructure probe commission
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has established the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to investigate anomalies in flood control and other infrastructure projects from the last 10 years.
Former DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson, who previously led the Good Governance and Anti-Corruption Program and major infrastructure projects under the Aquino administration, has been appointed as a member of the ICI.
Singson also held positions as President and CEO of Metro Pacific Water and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, Maynilad Water Services, and Chairman and President of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).
Rossana Fajardo, Managing Partner of SGV & Co., has also been appointed as a member of the ICI.
Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong will serve as a special adviser and investigator for the commission.
The commission's chairperson will be announced by the President in the coming days.
The ICI has been granted broad investigative powers, including issuing subpoenas and recommending the filing of criminal or administrative cases.
President Marcos Jr. emphasized that the commission's members are persons of proven competence, integrity, probity, and independence.
