Marcos Jr. urges climate action, green energy shift

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to actively participate in protecting the planet and addressing climate change.

He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation for a more resilient and adaptable nation.

The President highlighted that rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and deteriorating biodiversity are clear indicators of the urgent need for environmental action.

He called on the Climate Change Commission to effectively communicate programs and the theme of this year's Climate Change Consciousness Week.

Marcos Jr. encouraged the public to be involved in creating solutions to mitigate the effects of global warming and climate change.

He also mentioned his commitment to work towards a shift to green energy and boost investment in climate-resilient infrastructure.

Despite these calls, Marcos Jr. has yet to declare a national climate emergency, a move pressured by civil society to mobilize funds for climate mitigation efforts.
