Marcos Jr. calls for peaceful resolution of global crises

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. urged for peaceful resolutions to the ongoing crises in the Taiwan Strait, the Korean Peninsula, and between Russia and Ukraine.

Speaking before the Asia Society in New York City, Marcos emphasized the need for continued dialogue and maximum restraint among all parties involved.

While the Philippines adheres to the "One China" principle, Marcos expressed concern over rising tensions in the Taiwan Strait, which lies just north of the country.

He advocated for dialogue and diplomacy to prevail in the Taiwan crisis, following China's military exercises and suspension of cooperation with the US after Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taipei.

Marcos also highlighted the importance of confidence-building measures to achieve peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and across the Asia Pacific region.
