Marcos confers Order of Sikatuna to Lagdameo, Fernandez
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. awarded the Order of Sikatuna with the rank of Datu (Grand Cross), Gold Distinction to retired Philippine Permanent Representative to the UN Antonio Manuel Lagdameo and former Foreign Affairs chief coordinator Bernadette Therese Fernandez.
The awarding ceremony took place during a courtesy call at Malacañang.
The Order of Sikatuna's Datu rank is the second highest award, with the Raja rank reserved for heads of state or government.
Lagdameo retired from his post at the UN on July 31 and was succeeded by former Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo.
Fernandez has been designated as the Philippine Ambassador to South Korea.
