Marcos Jr. awards cash incentives to PH athletes for strong WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 performance

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced cash incentives for Filipino athletes who won in the recently-concluded 14th WorldSkills ASEAN 2025, with gold medalists receiving P100,000, silver medalists P80,000, bronze medalists P60,000, and medallion for excellence recipients P50,000.

The Philippines secured a total of 30 medals in the competition, including 10 golds, 7 silvers, and 8 bronzes, along with 5 medallions for excellence, marking the country's strongest performance to date.

The President stated that these accomplishments demonstrate the proficiency of Filipinos in various technical skills and prove the value of the Filipino worker on a global stage.

The Philippines hosted the 14th WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025 from August 21 to 31, 2025, in Pasay City, where 259 Filipino contestants competed in 32 skill areas, including construction, manufacturing, cyber security, robotics, and 3D digital game art.
