Marcos Jr. names Koko Pimentel's wife envoy to UAE

President Ferdinand "BBM" Marcos Jr. appointed Ma. Anna Kathryna Yu Pimentel, wife of Senate Minority Leader Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III, as the Philippines' Special Envoy to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for Trade and Investment.

Yu Pimentel aims to strengthen investment and trade relations between the Philippines and the UAE.

She has previously participated in significant economic forums in the UAE, including the World Government Summit and the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 28).

Her appointment coincided with a courtesy call on President Marcos by UAE Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

President Marcos expressed his hope to continue strengthening the bilateral relationship between the Philippines and the UAE.

Sheikh Al Nahyan noted that while the relationship is growing, there is potential for further enhancement through increased trade and investment.
