PMA invites Filipinos to join Independence Day celebrations

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has invited Filipinos to celebrate the 126th Independence Day by participating in government-organized events.

The NHCP has set the national theme as 'Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan' (Freedom. Future. History.) and will lead week-long activities.

President Marcos Jr. will lead the flag-raising ceremony on June 12 at 8 am at the Independence flagpole in Rizal Park, Manila.

The 'Parada ng Kalayaan' will commence at 3 pm on June 12, featuring 22 floats from across the country, and will proceed from the CCP grounds to Roxas Blvd. up to Burnham Green across the Quirino Grandstand.

A concert will follow the parade, and simultaneous flag-raising activities will be held in Cavite, Malolos, San Juan City, Caloan, Angeles City, and NHCP museums nationwide.

In observance of Independence Day, 132 booths offering various government services were opened on Monday at Luneta Park.
