Clint Escamis named NCAA Player of the Week

Clint Escamis, a rookie guard for Mapua University, has been named the Collegiate Press Corps NCAA Player of the Week for his performance in leading the Cardinals to the top of the standings.

He averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and six steals per game in Week 3 of NCAA Season 99.

Escamis was instrumental in Mapua's victories against defending champions Colegio de San Juan de Letran and previously league-leading Lyceum of the Philippines University, which improved their standing to 6-1.

His performance against Letran included 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and eight steals.

He capped off the week with a 20-point, 9-rebound, and 7-assist performance against Lyceum, hitting a clutch three-pointer in the 87-83 win.

This is the second time a Mapua player has received the weekly honor, with Paolo Hernandez also being recognized earlier in the season.

Escamis expressed his gratitude to his coaches and emphasized his focus on future games as Mapua aims for a Final Four appearance.
