Mapua edges San Sebastian in OT, nears twice-to-beat incentive

The Mapua Cardinals secured a crucial overtime victory against the San Sebastian Stags, 77-72, bringing them closer to clinching a twice-to-beat advantage in the NCAA Season 101 quarterfinals.

Earl Sapasap and Yam Concepcion were instrumental in overtime, scoring a combined 11 points to secure the win for the Cardinals.

Despite holding an 11-point lead late in the fourth quarter, Mapua experienced a collapse, allowing San Sebastian to tie the game and force overtime.

A victory against Arellano University on Friday will guarantee Mapua the desired quarterfinal bonus, joining University of Perpetual Help who had already secured the first incentive.

Mapua star Clint Escamis contributed 14 points, emphasizing the team's goal of winning back-to-back championships.
