Manila Water activates summer mitigation plan for continuous supply

Manila Water Philippine Ventures (MWPV), the Non-East Zone subsidiary of Manila Water Company, has activated its summer mitigation plan to ensure a continuous water supply across its service areas as the dry, warm season begins.

The plan addresses potential water availability issues, considering the impacts of global warming and climate change on water sources, even though El Niño is not in effect this year.

MWPV is implementing localized, data-driven mitigation programs across its operating units in provinces including Batangas, Laguna, Isabela, Aklan, Cebu, Samar, and Davao del Norte.

These measures, which utilize integrated water resource planning and predictive models, have been in place since the onset of El Niño in 2024.

Melvin John Tan, COO of Manila Water Non-East Zone, stated that the company is taking proactive steps to ensure uninterrupted water service and enhance the resilience of its water sources and facilities.
