Manila RTC recommends falsification charges vs Senate witness Orly Guteza

The Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 18 recommended the filing of falsification charges against Senate witness Orly Guteza.

This follows the court's confirmation that the signature of lawyer Petchie Rose Espera on Guteza's affidavit was forged, as supported by an NBI forensic analysis.

The court has referred the matter to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for further investigation and the filing of proper charges.

Prosecutor General Anthony Fadullon stated that the DOJ will act on the court's order as soon as they receive a copy of the decision, which they had not yet received as of Wednesday, October 29.

Guteza previously testified before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, alleging he delivered cash to former lawmaker Zaldy Co and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez.
