Police stop anti-corruption rally setup in Luneta

Manila police halted preparations for the "Baha sa Luneta 2.0" anti-corruption rally at Rizal Park, preventing organizers from setting up their stage past midnight, citing the "No Permit, No Rally" policy.

Despite organizers claiming coordination with the Manila local government, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso suggested coordination with the MMDA and NPDC was also necessary.

A commotion with the Manila Police District (MPD) resulted in rallyists who arrived early being given only 15 minutes for their protest program.

The rally eventually started around 10:30 a.m. with approximately 3,000 attendees after a 90-minute delay due to the dispute.

Groups present at the rally included youth, women, teachers, health professionals, religious groups, artists, laborers, farmers, seniors, environmentalists, and transport groups.
