Manila mayor orders removal of viral overlapping street signs

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso has ordered the removal of one of two overlapping street signs that went viral online, stating the signs were not installed by his administration.

The mayor acknowledged that the overlapping signs were a mistake but allowed the responsible parties to choose which one to remove.

Domagoso mentioned that the installation of street signs for Districts 1 to 6 had a budget of P39.9 million, according to a report from the City Engineer.

He presented a document indicating that the previous city administration approved the project, implying it was not his initiative.

The viral photo showed overlapping signages at the corner of Pedro Gil and Felix Street.

Mayor Domagoso expressed regret over the wasteful expenditure on unnecessary installations.
