June 6 declared regular holiday for Eid al-Adha

Malacañang has officially declared Friday, June 6, 2025, as a regular holiday throughout the Philippines to celebrate Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice.

This declaration was made based on the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, which followed the 1448 Hirsh Islamic Lunar Calendar.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. signed Proclamation No. 911, formalizing the holiday observance.

Eid al-Adha is a significant Islamic holiday that commemorates the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son as a testament to his obedience to God.
