Makati to pilot pooled PCR testing

Makati City will be the first to pilot Go Negosyo's pooled PCR testing initiative this month, according to Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion.

A memorandum of agreement has already been signed for the project, which aims to expedite and increase COVID-19 testing capacity at a reduced cost.

The private sector will finance approximately 160,000 pooled PCR tests for 16 cities and one municipality within the National Capital Region (NCR) as part of this pilot program.

Concepcion emphasized the crucial role of collaboration between the private sector and local government units in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and expressed gratitude to BDO and Makati for their involvement.

He stated that the initiative is crucial for balancing public health and economic recovery, asserting that a robust economy cannot exist without controlling the health situation.
