Lyceum Pirates stay undefeated after close wins vs CSB, Letran

The Lyceum Pirates secured their first victory of the NCAA Season 99 men's basketball tournament against the College of St. Benilde Blazers with a final score of 85-81.

JM Bravo led Lyceum with 18 points, eight rebounds, and a steal, supported by Enoch Valdez (16 points), Shawn Umali (14 points), and John Barba (11 points).

Shawn Umali sealed the victory for Lyceum with two crucial free throws in the final seconds, while Miggy Corteza scored a game-high 21 points for the Blazers.

The Pirates then escaped a thriller against Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 70-69, to remain undefeated.

John Barba's nine points, including the game-winning bucket, were crucial in Lyceum's victory over the Knights.

Shawn Umali and Enoch Valdez, former Letran Squires, contributed 15 and 10 points, respectively, against their former school.

Kurt Reyson led Letran with 17 points, but their comeback attempt fell short after Kobe Monje's final shot missed the rim.
