LTO summons van owner, driver over fatal Tagaytay crash

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned the owner and driver of a van involved in a fatal road crash in Tagaytay City that resulted in three deaths, including a pregnant woman.

LTO Chief Vigor D. Mendoza II said the show cause order is a step in investigating the incident and demands an explanation from the van's owner for allowing a reckless and improper person to operate the vehicle.

The LTO is also working with local police to gather evidence, such as an official report confirming the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Mendoza emphasized the significant liability of both the van's owner and driver, particularly given the reports of the driver being drunk.

The collision, which involved the van and an oncoming sedan, happened on Tuesday along the bypass road in Barangay Zambal, Tagaytay City.
