LTO scraps registration fee for custom motorcycle accessories

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has eliminated the registration fee for custom-made top boxes and saddle bags for motorcycles, following a directive from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

LTO chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao confirmed that the P100 fee previously charged for each accessory has been stopped.

This move aims to alleviate financial burdens on motorcycle riders who use their vehicles for work and livelihood.

While the fee is scrapped, registration for these custom accessories remains mandatory to ensure they meet safety and roadworthiness standards.

The LTO will now issue a certification as proof of registration instead of an official receipt.
