LTO summons car owner, driver over Cavite road crashes

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned the male owner and female driver of a Toyota Vios involved in multiple road crashes in Noveleta, Cavite.

A show cause order was issued requiring them to explain their actions, aligning with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to ensure road safety.

The female driver's license has been preventively suspended for 90 days after she reportedly lost consciousness during the incident.

Initial investigations indicate the vehicle suddenly accelerated, colliding with an oncoming car, then reversing into pedestrians and a light post before crashing into a parked tricycle.

The LTO is investigating the cause of the abrupt acceleration and deceleration that led to collisions with vehicles, pedestrians, and property.

At least five people were injured in the incident and were taken to different hospitals for treatment.

The LTO stated that failure to appear or submit explanations will result in a decision based on available evidence.
