LTO congratulates Giovanni Lopez on new DOTr acting secretary post

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) congratulates Giovanni "Banoy" Z. Lopez on his appointment as the new Acting Secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

LTO Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II stated that Lopez is the right man to lead the department in pushing for necessary reforms to improve the country's transportation system.

Mendoza highlighted Lopez's deep institutional knowledge in the transportation sector and his prior extensive experience within the DOTr.

He noted that Lopez is no stranger to the LTO after he led the agency briefly in 2022.

Lopez's appointment is considered a "well-deserved appointment" by the LTO chief.

The LTO believes Lopez's understanding of the transportation sector will aid in achieving the goals of President Marcos' Bagong Pilipinas program.

On Wednesday, Lopez vowed to continue the "gold standard" of his predecessor, Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon, in leading a government agency.

The agency is committed to supporting Secretary Lopez in enhancing government services for commuters and road users through efficient systems and improved infrastructure.
