LTFRB suspends 22 buses from 2 bus firms for violations

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) suspended 22 buses from Elavil Tours Phils. Inc. and AMV Travel and Tours Inc. for illegal bus terminal use and non-compliance with requirements.

Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez discovered 17 buses from Elavil Tours, servicing the Bicol-Manila route, using a bus terminal that was ordered closed in July 2025.

Five buses from AMV Travel and Tours were issued show cause orders for failing to meet minimum operational requirements.

The LTFRB has ordered the companies to surrender their for-hire plates and explain why their franchises should not be suspended or revoked.

LTFRB Chairman Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II stated that these actions serve as a warning to transport companies to comply with safety standards and maintain passenger-friendly terminals.
