LRT-1, LRT-2, MRT-3 undergo Holy Week maintenance

Metro Manila's major train systems, LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3, underwent scheduled maintenance during the Holy Week to ensure safer and more efficient operations.

The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) commenced its annual maintenance activities, including repainting platform markers, preventive maintenance of trains, replacement of contact lines, general cleaning of rails, and rail grinding.

LRT-2 suspended its operations from April 17 to April 20 and is expected to resume normal operations on Monday, April 21.

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 focused on rail grinding along its mainline on Saturday, April 19, a process to smooth and repair tracks.

The Light Rail Transit Authority Administrator Hernando Cabrera inspected LRT-1 stations from EDSA to Baclaran on Saturday morning, including the line connecting to the Pasay Depot, to oversee the efforts of the Light Rail Manila Corporation.

Preventive maintenance, inspections, and general cleaning of facilities and equipment were also conducted along the LRT-2 system.

These annual maintenance activities are vital to ensuring the long-term safety and reliability of Metro Manila's railway systems.
