LRT-2 implements no-talking policy on trains

The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) has implemented a "No-Talking" policy inside trains to contain the spread of COVID-19.

This policy, which prohibits talking to fellow passengers and answering phone calls during train journeys, took effect on Thursday, July 16.

LRTA spokesperson Atty. Hernando Cabrera stated that initial actions will involve warnings, with stricter measures to be considered if violations persist.

Cabrera noted that the short travel time of approximately 20 minutes between Cubao and Recto stations should allow passengers to wait until they disembark to make or receive calls, including emergency ones.

The LRT-2 management also reminded passengers to wear face masks properly for their own safety.

Frequently touched areas within LRT2 stations are disinfected every 45 minutes to an hour as part of the health protocols.

Other train lines like the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and the LRT Line 1 have also implemented the same "No Talking" policy.
