MRT-3, LRT-1, LRT-2 to suspend operations for Holy Week

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3), Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1), and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will suspend operations from April 17 to April 20 for Holy Week observance and annual maintenance.

Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) president and CEO Enrico Benipayo stated that the temporary suspension is crucial for essential upkeep and upgrades to ensure a more reliable and convenient service.

All LRT-1 trains will undergo testing and inspection before normal operations resume on April 21.

The LRT-1 will follow its normal operating hours from April 14 to April 16, with first trips departing simultaneously from Dr. Santos Station and Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 4:30 a.m., and last trips leaving Dr. Santos Station at 10:30 p.m. and Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 10:45 p.m.

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) advised LRT-2 commuters to plan and use alternative transportation during the suspension period.

The MRT-3 transported nearly 400,000 passengers daily in 2024.
