LPA has medium chance to become tropical depression Lannie

A low-pressure area (LPA) 175 kilometers west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, still has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, according to PAGASA.

If it intensifies, it will be named Lannie, the 12th cyclone to enter the Philippine area of responsibility this year.

The LPA is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.

The Southwest Monsoon will also bring similar conditions to Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, with isolated rainshowers possible in Visayas and Mindanao.

Flashfloods or landslides may occur in some areas due to these weather conditions.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions are expected across the country.
