Malacañang confirmed the appointment and released a copy of Locsin's appointment paper, which was dated August 30.
In addition to the UK, Locsin will also have concurrent jurisdiction over Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Bailiwick of Jersey, and the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
He will hold the salary and emoluments of a Chief of Mission, Class I.
Locsin previously served as the head of the DFA during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Under his term as DFA chief, Locsin pursued former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's independent foreign policy.
