LGU officials warned vs dereliction of duty over crowded vax sites

Local government officials face charges of dereliction of duty if they fail to enforce health protocols and prevent overcrowding at vaccination sites, according to Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.

Roque issued the warning following reports of large crowds gathering at vaccination centers, fueled by misinformation about cash aid and mobility restrictions for unvaccinated individuals.

President Duterte emphasized that local governments have a responsibility to ensure vaccination sites do not become super spreader events and must adhere to humane practices, avoiding overcrowding.

Roque asserted that sufficient resources are available to implement minimum health standards, and any failure to do so constitutes a dereliction of duty by local officials.
