Legarda encourages patronage of PH arts and culture this February

Senator Loren Legarda has urged Filipinos to celebrate National Arts Month this February by patronizing and honoring the nation's artistic and cultural heritage.

Legarda emphasized that arts and culture are fundamental to nation-building, representing the Filipino spirit and collective memory.

She described Filipino traditions and arts as a form of soul language that conveys the history, resilience, and aspirations of the people.

According to Legarda, arts and culture serve as the nation's heartbeat, preserving ancestral wisdom while shaping contemporary narratives.

The senator also highlighted how the arts empower communities, sustain livelihoods, and inspire future generations.

National Arts Month was established in 1991 by Presidential Proclamation No. 683, issued by then-President Corazon Aquino, to recognize the contributions of Filipino artists and cultural workers.
