Reps push 10% medicine discount for low-earning gov't workers

House Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo and four other lawmakers have proposed a bill granting rank-and-file government employees a 10% discount on medicines.

The proposed measure aims to help government workers earning P30,000 or less cope with the high cost of medicines when they fall ill.

The bill, titled "An Act Granting Rank-and-File Government Employees a 10% Discount on the Sale of Medicines," was filed by Representatives Erwin Tulfo, Edvic Yap, Jocelyn Tulfo, Eric Yap, and Ralph Wendel Tulfo.

To avail of the discount on both branded and generic medicines, employees will be required to present a valid ID and proof of salary.
