Lawmakers say Marcos not a dictator

Lawmakers state that President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s actions are far from those of a dictator.

Lanao del Sur 1st district Rep. Zia Adiong cited the President's lack of vindictiveness despite severe personal attacks and threats against him and his family.

These threats included Vice President Sara Duterte's alleged assassination threat against Marcos and her warning to exhume his father's remains.

Adiong pointed out that Marcos has not retaliated directly despite holding significant power and facing curses and disrespect towards his father.

The lawmaker highlighted that the President respects the separation of powers and has allowed institutions to function independently.

Marcos also reportedly chose not to request the Senate to convene for an emergency session, despite legal opinions suggesting he do so.
