Las Piñas mayor apologizes for relief goods overcrowding, promises home delivery

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar apologized for the overcrowding during relief good distribution and announced that future aid will be delivered to residents' homes.

An initial batch of 50,000 relief goods packages, containing rice and canned goods, has begun distribution to 20 barangays in the city.

Barangay officials and volunteers are conducting house-to-house deliveries to ensure residents remain home during the enhanced community quarantine.

Mayor Aguilar urged residents to stay home and wait for scheduled deliveries, advising them to only rely on information from barangay officials to avoid confusion.

The city government is also deploying transportation for health workers and providing them with protective gear like masks and PPE.

Barangay officials have been instructed to enforce regular disinfection of public places.
