Las Piñas allows trikes, pedicabs back on roads June 1

The Las Piñas City government will allow tricycle, pedicab, and e-trike operations to resume starting June 1 with a 50 percent capacity.

Operators and drivers' associations must implement a rotational system to allow all members a chance to operate.

Tricycles and pedicabs are permitted to operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

These public utility vehicles are restricted to operating within villages and subdivisions, not on national roads.

An odd-even scheme will remain in effect to manage traffic within villages and subdivisions.

Only one passenger is allowed per tricycle, while e-trikes can accommodate two passengers with strict one-meter physical distancing.

Drivers are required to wear face masks and gloves, and the city government will conduct random testing on drivers in high-risk areas.
