Laoag City, Mariveles lead PH COVID-19 infection rates; Davao City tops ICU utilization

Laoag City, Mariveles in Bataan, Lapu-Lapu City, and Cebu City recorded the highest COVID-19 infection rates from July 7-17, according to OCTA Research.

Laoag City had the highest infection rate at 2.07%, followed by Mariveles at 1.83%, Lapu-Lapu City at 1.62%, and Cebu City at 1.40%.

In Laoag City, COVID-19 cases increased to 46 from 25, while Mariveles saw cases rise from 21 to 66.

Lapu-Lapu City's cases went from 31 to 50, and Cebu City reported an increase from 77 to 98 cases.

Mariveles and Laoag City exhibited "very high" incidence rates at 47.08 and 40.03 cases per 100,000 population, respectively.

Iloilo City and Davao City continued to have the highest ICU utilization rates at 97% and 96%.

Davao City registered the highest average daily COVID-19 cases nationwide with 225 cases from July 11-17.
