La Salle downs UE for second straight win

De La Salle University secured its first back-to-back wins in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament, defeating the University of the East Lady Warriors with set scores of 25-12, 23-25, 25-14, and 25-17.

This victory brings La Salle's record to 3-2, marking their first winning record after a 1-2 start.

Angel Canino led the Lady Spikers with 20 points, including 14 attacks, 3 blocks, and 3 aces, complemented by 10 excellent digs and 9 excellent receptions.

Alleiah Malaluan, Amie Provido, and Lilay Del Castillo were key in the Lady Spikers' breakaway in the fourth set.

Jyne Soreño provided a spark off the bench in the third set, scoring nine points in that period alone and helping ignite a 13-1 run.

Despite the win, the team acknowledged lapses in focus and complacency, particularly in the second set.

Lady Spikers deputy coach Noel Orcullo noted that the team relaxed and lost its connection in the second set.
