Former Ako Bicol Rep. Co to be summoned by Senate blue ribbon committee

Former Ako Bicol party-list Representative Elizaldy S. Co will be invited to the next hearing of the Senate blue ribbon committee regarding anomalous flood control projects.

If Co fails to appear after being invited to his known address, the committee will proceed with issuing a subpoena and a show-cause order.

Should the show-cause order not yield a satisfactory response, Co may be cited in contempt of the committee and face an arrest warrant.

Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson also stated that former speaker Martin Romualdez will be invited to the probe.

Romualdez will be invited through a letter addressed to Speaker Faustino Dy III, in keeping with inter-parliamentary courtesy.

Co has claimed to be abroad for medical treatment, believed to be in Europe.

Lacson promised to pursue the inquiry with impartiality, and the Blue Ribbon committee will continue holding hearings for as long as there are new major developments.
