Lacson to invite Zaldy Co, Romualdez to flood control project probe

Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson announced that Zaldy Co, former Ako Bicol party-list Representative, and Martin Romualdez, Leyte Representative, will be invited to the next hearing of the Senate blue ribbon committee.

Lacson, who chairs the committee, stated that these invitations aim to demonstrate the committee's commitment to transparency in its investigation of alleged anomalous flood control projects.

If Zaldy Co fails to appear after being invited to his known address, the committee will proceed with issuing a subpoena, followed by a show-cause order.

Should the show-cause order not yield a satisfactory response, Co may be cited in contempt of the committee and face an arrest warrant.

The invitation for Martin Romualdez will be sent through House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III, adhering to inter-parliamentary courtesy between the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Romualdez has previously denied the allegations against him, dismissing them as falsehoods.
