Lacson to give Dizon evidence on DPWH corrupt officials

Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson will provide newly appointed DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon with evidence against corrupt officials, described as "low-hanging rotten fruits."

Lacson stated the evidence will serve as proof and a deterrent against future corrupt practices within the Department of Public Works and Highways.

He previously exposed corruption involving substandard and ghost flood control projects in a privilege speech on August 20, naming sacked district engineers Henry Alcantara and Bryce Hernandez as members of a "syndicate."

Hernandez was summoned by the Senate for snubbing a previous Blue Ribbon committee hearing, while Alcantara admitted to going to casinos with Hernandez, violating government regulations.

Lacson is preparing the second part of his privilege speech, titled "Flooded Gates of Corruption," scheduled for September 10, which will focus on additional evidence of wrongdoing.

Senator JV Ejercito is looking forward to grilling two other Bulacan district engineers, Hernandez and Jaypee Mendoza, who are allegedly Alcantara's accomplices.

Secretary Dizon has requested courtesy resignations from all DPWH officials and will conduct a review to identify and retain high-performing individuals.
