Lacson says Duterte's remark on anti-terror bill signing is figure of speech

Senator Panfilo Lacson stated that President Rodrigo Duterte's remark about awaiting finalization of the anti-terror bill's details before signing is merely a figure of speech.

Lacson explained that Duterte often uses colorful language, and the enrolled bill is ready.

The President has 30 days under the Constitution to approve, veto, or let the bill lapse into law, with at least 15 days remaining.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque previously stated Duterte wanted to ensure all provisions, including punctuation, were finalized before signing.

Roque assured that the bill is being reviewed by the Office of the Executive Secretary and that Duterte, a former criminal lawyer, will personally determine if any provisions contradict the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
