Lacson claims Chinese sleeper agents in PH for spying

Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson alleged that Chinese sleeper agents and operatives from China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) are already in the Philippines for spying purposes.

He stated that concerned government agencies should conduct more hot pursuit operations and be more vigilant in conducting intelligence operations against espionage.

Lacson stressed the importance of dismantling the entire network to prevent foreign nations from easily replacing apprehended agents.

He specifically mentioned receiving information about sleeper agents in Palawan, Dumaguete, Metro Manila, near Camp Aguinaldo, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Manila, and even Malacañang.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested 13 Chinese nationals and one Cambodian for suspected espionage.
