Kris Aquino makes first public appearance in years

Filipino television host and actress Kris Aquino made her first public appearance in the Philippines in several years at the People Asia People of the Year 2025 awards night on February 25.

She attended to support her close friend, fashion designer Michael Leyva, and was accompanied by her son Bimby and her medical team, which included her doctor and three nurses.

Aquino stated she was late to the event due to a new medication that caused difficulty waking up.

She described her appearance on the eve of the EDSA People Power anniversary as a "perfect coming out."

The actress admitted she was feeling dizzy due to her ongoing battle with six autoimmune diseases, including autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, Churg-Strauss syndrome, systemic sclerosis, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.

She expressed deep gratitude for Leyva's unwavering support, describing him as a younger brother who has consistently proven his reliability.
