Barbie Forteza trains to be a villain in Kontrabida Academy

Barbie Forteza stars as Gigi, a waitress whose life is falling apart, who enrolls in the "Kontrabida Academy" to learn how to be a villain.

Eugene Domingo plays Mauricia, the head of the academy, who mentors Gigi in becoming "bad, fabulous and brave" and embracing her "primera kontrabida."

The film "Kontrabida Academy" showcases comedic moments as Gigi navigates her villainous training, which includes sharp-tongued exchanges and physical altercations, with a "purposeful curriculum" involving stern one-liners and dramatic slapping.

Mauricia assures Gigi that completing the course will equip her with the tools to survive life's harshest turns, telling her, "Hayaan mong ipakita ko sa'yo ang iyong full potential."

The trailer shows Gigi channelling her "kontrabida" nature with Mauricia's support and attempting to copy her maniacal laugh.

Directed by Chris Martinez, the movie also features Jameson Blake, Michael de Mesa, Ysabel Ortega, Xyriel Manabat, Carmina Villaroel, and Yasser Marta.

The film is set to premiere on Netflix on September 11.
