Kuya Kim shares daughter's struggles with mental health and passing

TV host Kim Atienza, also known as Kuya Kim, discussed the passing of his 19-year-old daughter, Emman, in an interview with Jessica Soho.

Atienza shared that his daughter had been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar Disorder and had made previous attempts at self-harm before her death on October 22 in California.

He had been praying daily for Emman's safety, happiness, and healing, believing that her passing has a purpose and that 'everything is planned by the Lord.'

Kuya Kim finds peace in the belief that Emman did not die in vain and that there is a beautiful reason behind it, stating, 'This is not in vain. There is a reason. That gives me peace.'

Despite her inner pain, Emman maintained a strong facade and advocated for mental health, which led her family to believe she was okay.

Atienza mentioned that while he says he is 'good,' grief comes in waves and he avoids being alone due to the heaviness of his loss.
