Kiko Pangilinan demands apology from Net 25 over alleged disrespect to Sharon Cuneta

Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan is demanding a public apology from Net 25 for allegedly disrespecting his wife, actress Sharon Cuneta, during a news segment.

During the program, Net 25 anchors Nelson Lubao and Gen Subardiaga allegedly pressured Cuneta to convince Senator Rodante Marcoleta to step down from the Blue Ribbon committee.

The anchors were reportedly reacting to Pangilinan's support for a proposed independent probe into government infrastructure projects.

The Blue Ribbon committee, chaired by Marcoleta, is currently investigating anomalous flood control projects.

Marcoleta had accused Pangilinan and other senators of undermining his committee's inquiry.

Pangilinan stated that his wife has no connection to the corruption issues and felt her name was used unfairly to provoke a reaction.

Lubao has since apologized to Cuneta for the pain and distress caused by the segment.
