Kiko Pangilinan credits moderate voters for election performance

Former senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan attributes his fifth-place ranking in the 2025 National and Local Elections partial unofficial results to voters who perceived him as a moderate choice.

Pangilinan believes that his appeal to a middle-ground voter base, who were neither strong administration nor opposition supporters, contributed to his electoral performance.

He also suggested that his and senatorial candidate Bam Aquino's advocacy for education and agriculture might have played a role in their strong showings.

If elected, Pangilinan intends to champion an increase in the agriculture budget to between P70 to P100 billion over the next three years.

These proposed funds would be directed towards supporting farmers and fisherfolk with equipment, post-harvest facilities, and training to enhance food security and reduce prices.
