Kaya FC-Iloilo loses 0-3 to Tampines Rovers in AFC Champions League Two opener

Kaya FC-Iloilo began their 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Two (ACL Two) campaign with a 0-3 loss to Singapore's Tampines Rovers at the New Clark City Stadium.

The team's coach, Yu Hoshide, cited a sluggish second-half performance as the reason for the defeat, which placed them at the bottom of Group H.

Australian winger Trent Buhagiar was instrumental for Tampines Rovers, scoring two goals and providing an assist.

Kaya FC-Iloilo, the Philippine Football League champions, aims to improve on their previous ACL Two season, where they achieved the first win for a Philippine club in the revamped competition.

Their goal for this season is to reach the Round-of-16, a feat they narrowly missed in the prior campaign.

The team will also face South Korea's Pohang Steelers and Thailand's BG Pathum United in a double round-robin format.

Kaya FC-Iloilo's next match is against Pohang Steelers on October 1 in South Korea.
