Karl Yulo bags 2 bronze medals in Gymnastics Junior Worlds

Filipino gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo secured a bronze medal in the floor exercise final of the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships with a score of 13.733.

He sustained a right ankle injury during the all-around finals on Saturday, competing through the pain despite the injury.

Yulo's bronze medal marks the Philippines' first medal in the Junior World Championships.

He then bagged another bronze medal in the horizontal bar finals with a score of 14.000, finishing third behind Colombia's Camilo Vera and American Danila Leykin.

Yulo expressed happiness and pride in raising the Philippine flag, stating it was about hard work and not luck.

He was particularly proud of executing a rare Cassina trick with a full twist and a triple back dismount, the first Filipino gymnast to do so.

Earlier in the vault finals, Yulo narrowly missed the podium, placing fourth with 13.716 points.
