Kara David reacts to viral Death Note-inspired comic of her anti-corruption birthday wish

Filipino news reporter Kara David humorously reacted to a viral comic illustration inspired by her birthday wish against corruption in the Philippines.

David, who recently celebrated her 52nd birthday, garnered attention for her wish during a belated birthday dinner with her husband's family.

Her spoken wish, "Sana mamatay lahat ng kurakot sa Pilipinas!" (I wish all corrupt officials in the Philippines would die!), became a trending topic.

Comic artist Kevin Raymundo created an illustration depicting David above a Congress hall filled with lifeless bodies, a visual representation of her wish.

David compared the artwork to the popular manga series "Death Note," known for its supernatural notebook that kills those whose names are written in it.

The video of her wish has generated 20 million views and has been shared more than 130,000 times.

She currently hosts the award-winning documentary show "I-Witness," and the infotainment show "Pinas Sarap," and has recently launched her podcast "I-Listen."
